HYDERABAD: Delhi-based Freedom Smart Labs Ltd has raised Rs 1 crore in seed round from Kapil Goel, managing director of retail chain DCS Group. The wifi-based retail solution product Freedom.desi developed by the company helps retail outlets re-target customers.

Similar to location based technologies developed by various companies and Apple’s iBeacon technology, the Freedom.desi product uses wifi sensors to track the users in vicinity in a commercial space, log footfalls and can send out promotional offers to their app-users in the vicinity.

“Currently we have deployed this at 21 malls in and around Delhi-NCR. We are also offering mall management software and assist features for customers who have the app and step into a mall. They can search for wheelchairs, use the lost-and-found assistance and more,” said Yogesh Huja, founder of Freedom Smart Labs adding that the company is in talks with malls in Dubai and Turkey to provide their full-suite of solutions.
