NEW DELHI: The curtain rises on India’s most prestigious awards for startups. A jury consisting of the who’s who of the startup world will meet in Bengaluru to choose winners from a list of high achievers on Saturday, July 22.

They will pick the best from a shortlist of five contenders across eight categories in this third edition of The Economic Times Startup Awards. The jury consists of Flipkart group CEO Binny Bansal, Ola co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal, Matrix Partners India managing director Avnish Bajaj, Amazon India country manager Amit Agarwal, Accel India partner Prashanth Prakash, Times Internet chief executive officer Gautam Sinha, telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan, IIM-Indore director Rishikesha T Krishnan, Google vice-president for South-East Asia and India Rajan Anandan and Biocon Ltd chairman Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.

From today till Saturday, we will unveil the contenders who have made it to the shortlist. Today, it is the turn of Bootstrap Champ (those who have built a startup without outside funding) and Top Innovator.
