BENGALURU: As a precursor to the Independence Day celebrations, Bengaluru-based startup Creatorbot has set up a 3D printer at the Rashtrapati Bhavan to print, among other things, small models of the Ashoka Chakra and the National Flag.

“We always wanted to reach out to children because when children actually look at these tools, it triggers their creativity," said Krishna Theja, founder of Creatorbot. The 3D printer is preloaded with customised designs related to national symbols and prints items at the press of a button.

At a recent Makerfest in Ahmedabad, a representative of Intel, who was involved in the development of the museum, became in terested in their printer and asked them to make a customised version. The printers will be housed in 'Navachara Kaksh', the children's museum established by Rashtrapati Bhavan with help from Intel India. It also showcases a robotic dog and virtual musical instruments, among others.
