Airwoot, a startup that helps brands provide customer support on social media, has raised an undisclosed amount from investors led by Kae Capital. Top angel investors like Google India managing director Rajan Anandan, Sasha Mirchandani, Sunil Kalra and Samir Sood participated. “I believe they will make a tremendous difference in this new world of social customer care,” said Sasha Mirchandani, founder and managing partner at Kae Capital.

The New Delhi-based company, which enables businesses to engage with their customers in real-time, will use the funding to develop technology and hire talent. Saurabh Arora cofounded the company in 2012 along with Prabhat Saraswat. The third cofounder, Achal Aggarwal joined the firm later.

Airwoot has built a nextgeneration real-time customer support using the sophisticated filtering and priority engine that separates social chatter from relevant support queries. The social customer relationship market is expected to grow from $1.91 billion (Rs 12,008 crore) in 2013 to $9.08 billion (Rs 57,431 crore) in 2018 at a compound annual growth rate of 36.5%, according to research firm MarketsandMarkets.
