ET Make in India SME Regional Summit to enter Hyderabad on December 5

Hyderabad, which boasts one of the fastest-growing start-up ecosystems in the country, is set to host the ET Make in India SME Regional Summit on December 5. This will mark the third occasion the city has hosted the Summit since its inaugural year in 2023. The previous two occasions have seen a phenomenal turnout with the presence of industry leaders like former T-Hub CEO Mahankali Srinivas Rao; Jayesh Ranjan (IAS), former Special Chief Secretary for the Industry and Investment Cell in the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office; and entrepreneurs like Abhay Egoor, Chief Technology Officer at Dhruva Aerospace.


Well-known for its robust IT and high-technology ecosystems, Hyderabad is also home to many traditional SME (small and medium enterprise) sectors, such as manufacturing, handicrafts, and pharmaceuticals. Its strategic infrastructure and the presence of premier educational institutions help lay fertile ground for small businesses and start-ups to thrive.

The ET Make in India SME Regional Summit in Hyderabad will begin with an exclusive fireside chat with Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, ITE&C and Industries & Commerce Departments, Government of Telangana on the topic ‘Telangana’s policy push for growth, jobs & innovation’.

It will be followed by another fireside chat with Pranay Shah, Executive Vice President and Head-SME at TATA AIG on the topic- From Survival to Scale: Building Resilient MSMEs Through Smart Risk Management.

Nagaraj Garla, Executive Director, IDBI Bank will then join the stage for a fireside chat around the topic- "Catalyzing 'Make in India' Growth: IDBI Bank's Strategic Imperatives for Empowering MSMEs".

This will be followed by an engaging panel discussion on the topic ‘From startup to scale-up: Turning Telangana’s innovation strength into MSME growth engines.’ The panellists here include Pushpank Kaushik, CEO & Head of Business Development (Subcontinent, Middle East, and Southeast Asia) at Jassper Shipping; Auszad Shaik ,Vice President - Logistics & Supplychain, Department of Industries, Commerce & Export Promotion, Govt of Telangana and Nirmal Reddy, President, ETO Motors and V.Suresh Babu, Zonal General Manager, NSIC,Hyderabad. The panel discussion will be moderated by Joginder Tanikella, Chief Executive Officer, T-Works.

There will be a second panel discussion on the topic- Scaling without breaking: How India’s new-age entrepreneurs build for resilience, not just size. The panelists here include Priyanka Chigurupati, Executive Director of Granules India Limited; Kanika Tekriwal, Founder & CEO, JetSetGo; Meraj Faheem, CEO, TGIC, Govt. of Telangana; and Bhavani Suresh, Managing Director, Truzon Solar and member Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI).

The ET Make in India SME Regional Summit serves as a platform providing networking opportunities to local small businesses and industry leaders, where they can engage, connect, and have an open dialogue.

The summit in Hyderabad will be conducted under the theme of ‘Empowering MSMEs: Driving India’s Century of Sustainable Growth’ to champion, acknowledge, and fortify the Indian MSME sector. It will be conducted by Economictimes.com with IDBI Bank as the Banking & Lending Partner and Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited as the General Insurance Partner. Each summit will comprise a diverse array of discussions and sessions, including panel discussions, masterclasses, and showcases of MSME solutions.

This is the third annual edition of the ET Make in India Regional Summit series. In its inaugural year, the programme covered Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The previous edition expanded its reach to 16 cities. This edition will cover 20 cities, including Thane, Nagpur, Nashik, Kochi, and Baroda.
