Budget 2012: Exempt excise duty on handmade carpets, says FIEO

FIEO has sought exemption of excise duty on handmade carpets; reduction of excise duty on man-made fibers (MMF) to 4% (from 10%).

NEW DELHI: FIEO has sought exemption of excise duty on handmade carpets; reduction of excise duty on man-made fibers (MMF) to 4% (from 10%).

It has also sought exemption of excise duty on rosin & turpentine and in raw material used in shuttle less looms.
