Independent OTT platform PressPlay TV announces major makeover

NEW DELHI: In a major makeover, PressPlay TV's android app will now offer users 50 channels with wider content choices in the form of hindi movies, TV shows, trending internet videos, news, sports, fashion and comedy to stream over the internet, says co-founder & CEO Anand Sinha in a statement.

“Our aim is to bring the best-in-class entertainment and to extend the whole experience for our users everywhere over the internet,” says Sinha.

The company will reportedly launch an iOS app and desktop browser as well to enhance the viewing experience. The move is mainly aimed at increasing PressPlay's reach among users and to encourage long-form content like movies and TV shows, Sinha said in a statement.

Other aspects of the user experience has also been enhanced including faster access to preferred choice of content along with a customized app view that displays a wider array of choices.

PressPlay TV is an independent OTT platform, unlike most that are either promoted or have an allegiance with a content developer. The company is now aggressively getting into licensing arrangements with leading developers across genres including Sun Network, Sony India and Fever 104 to increase the depth of its offering, Sinha said in a statement.
