Ajay Shriram has led DCM Shriram Consolidated from the front since the Shriram family restructuring in 1990. The company entered the sugar business in 1997 & rural retail and building systems in early 2000s.

Many companies and business leaders have inspired me. Among them are the Tatas. There were many in the family too.

Someone who can put in intelligent hard work to pursue an idea with passion and conviction.

People are key. Unless you have the right person for the right job at the right time, you will not achieve optimum success.

An event during your starting up days which inspired you...

At our sugar factory near Meerut, I used to go to the workers’ houses for meals. Interacting with them made me feel good.
