Small Scale Industries Registration

Registration under this alternative is governed by MSME Act, 2006. Enterprises or start-ups with investments under specified limits are eligible for the registration. Following is the categorization:

MSME Registration is not mandatory, but a preferable alternative to reap all the benefits given to micro, small and medium scale enterprises. Registration process is divided into two - provisional and permanent.

2. Items not covered can be found here. These items do not need any industrial license. Products groups that do not require industrial license along with products reserved for small scale sector can apply for PRC (Provisional Registration Certificate).

Usually, entrepreneurs can obtain Provisional Registration Certificate (PRC) during the entity's pre-establishment period. This helps proprietors to get a provisional proof of existence to raise loans/ purchase assets or hire. PRC is valid for 5 years. After commencement of operations, proprietor can apply for permanent registration certificate. Here's the link for online application.
You will require following documents for submitting the application -
i. PAN of proprietor
ii. Address proof
iii. Rental agreements of commercial space
iv. Few clearance are also required from:
a. State Pollution Board
b. Electricity Board
c. Municipal Corporation
3. Affidavit declaring status of plant and machinery installed, power requirement, etc.
