Woman investors in Karnataka to get 5% quota in industrial plots: Siddaramaiah
BENGALURU: Karnataka will provide five percent of plots or sheds in future industrial estates for woman entrepreneurs, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Thursday.

The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) develops industrial estates across the state and makes allotments to applicants. Five percent of these will henceforth go to woman applicants.

In addition, Karnataka is creating two other industrial estates exclusively meant for woman entrepreneurs. While one is being developed at Harohally near Bengaluru in a plot of 100 acres, the second one will come up at either Hubballi or Dharwad, the Chief Minister said.

He was speaking after opening the international convention for entrepreneurial woman organised by the organisation, e-MERG.

Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal together have 51.9% of the country’s women-owned business, which Siddaramaiah said, truly indicated Karnataka’s potential.
