The government has put out a tweet saying “It may please be noted that there is no extension of GSTR-I. There is a fake notification being circulated on social media.”

There has been an error in reporting that the government has extended the deadline to file GSTR-1 for the period July-November till January 15, 2018. The original deadline is January 10, 2018, which is today.

While a notification is in circulation, the government has put out a tweet saying “It may please be noted that there is no extension of GSTR-I. There is a fake notification being circulated on social media.”

At the moment there has been no official word on the extension of deadline, but the GSTN site has been experiencing problem since yesterday. Users have complained that data uploaded was not showing up.
