Unacademy gets $11.5 million from Sequoia, SAIF

The company will also significantly invest in producing its own know ledge-based content with educators on the platform.

BENGALURU: Edtech platform Unacademy has raised series-B funding of $11.5 million (approximately Rs 73.6 crore) led by Sequoia India and SAIF Partners.

Existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures also participated in the round.

Unacademy will utilise the funding to accelerate its product and technology as well as scale to other categories including personality development, new languages and job interviews.

The company will also significantly invest in producing its own know ledge-based content with educators on the platform.

“We also want to get content across all categories. We are doing well in test prep, we need money to develop the other categories,“ said Gaurav Munjal, CEO, Unacademy, adding that four angel investors have also exited with the current round.

Unacademy's angel investors include Flipkart's Sachin and Binny Bansal, Freshworks' Girish Mathrubootham, Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Google's Rajan Anandan.
