Jumbotail gets Rs 55 crore from Nexus, Kalaari
BENGALURU: Online wholesale marketplace for food and grocery Jumbotail has raised $8.5 million (around Rs 55.12 crore) as series-A funds from Kalaari Capital and Nexus Venture Partners. Nexus Venture Partners had earlier invested $2 million (around Rs 13 crore) in the company.

Founded by Stanford alumni Karthik Venkateswaran and Ashish Jhina in 2015, the company works with kirana stores and businesses, including hotels and restaurants in Bengaluru, to build an efficient supply chain for ordering staples, spices, dry fruits, packaged foods, and FMCG products.

The online platform allows traders, manufacturers and brands to sell their products through an app, which has interfaces in Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and English, for ease of use by the kirana store owners.
