The company currently operates in two cities and is on course to launch in three metros over the next few months

Sameer Garde joins the advisory board of Shotang
Sameer Garde head-strategy and alliances, Iqlect, will be joining the advisory board of business to business marketplace Shotang. In his earlier roles, Garde has led various tech companies in India, including Dell, Philips and Samsung.

Garde joins Sanjay Anandram, who has been a mentor to Shotang for almost three years now. Anish Basu Roy, CEO, Shotang said that the idea behind creating a strong advisory board to bring in external counsel which can be valuable for a start up. "We will look at inducting more industry leaders on our advisory council and build our infrastructure in thought leadership," he added.

The company is also strengthening its leadership team and has brought on board Krishan Nagpal as VP-Technology. Nagpal was earlier a part of Commonfloor which was later acquired by Quikr.

"Nagpal will help us accelerate our business objectives and a lot of what we want to do depends on technology," he said. Garde and Anandram will work closely with the leadership team at Shotang on areas like business models and monetisation opportunities, apart from bringing in a strong set of industry connections.

The company currently operates in two cities and is on course to launch in three metros over the next few months. He declined to name the cities for competitive reasons, but said that the company was currently working on building its infrastructure in these cities.
