Uber gives global head of tax and accounting, Francois Chadwick, extra charge in Uber India
BENGALURU: Cab hailing firm Uber has appointed Francois Chadwick, global head of tax and accounting, as an additional director for India operations, according to documents filed by the company to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The filings also indicate that Karen Sammis Walker, global controller, has resigned from the position of additional director, India operations, citing personal and unavoidable circumstances.

During a meeting held on March 24, the board of directors of the company passed the necessary board resolution confirming Chadwick's appointment and Walker's resignation. Both Walker and Chadwick are Uber executives based out of San Francisco.

Walker was appointed as an additional director for Uber's India operations in November, 2014. ET did not receive any response to an email query to Uber enquiring about the change in directors and Walker's resignation from the role of additional director. The cab hailing firm is currently in a crisis, grappling with accusations of a sexist work culture, besides a critical search for a chief operating officer and an intellectual property lawsuit from Google's Alphabet-owned Waymo. The company, which launched operations in India in August 2013, is operational in 29 cities across the country.
