Citigroup's Deora in Paytm Wallet
BENGALURU: Mobile payments platform Paytm has appointed former Citigroup executive Madhur Deora as its chief financial officer to drive new growth at the company.

Deora is the latest high-profile appointment by the Noida-based company, in February it roped in former central banker Shinjini Kumar to head its payment bank. A Wharton Business School graduate, Deora has over 17 years of investment banking experience, most recently as managing director in Mumbai, handling technology, media and telecom for the Citigroup.

"Apart from partnering with business heads to help drive the overall growth of the company, he will lead our efforts and fundraising, investments, acquisitions and partnerships," Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder and chief executive officer told ET. Deora will report to Sharma. "This is going to be a phenomenal learning experience for me," said Deora. "... I look forward to using my experience and skills to further support this incredible growth."
