Healthcare and beauty services entrepreneur Vandana Luthra has invested an undisclosed amount in Smartcooky.com, an e-commerce platform to sell healthy foods and personal care products.

NEW DELHI: Healthcare and beauty services entrepreneur Vandana Luthra has invested an undisclosed amount in Smartcooky.com, an e-commerce platform to sell healthy foods and personal care products.

Luthra, who founded slimming and beauty services chain VLCC Health Care in 1989, joins blue chip investors including Pramod Bhasin, Google's Rajan Anandan and MS (Vindi) Banga who have also invested on the platform. SmartCooky Internet has raised funds at a valuation of US $12 million from multiple investors, an official directly involved with the developments said.

The beauty and wellness industry for products and services has been growing at a compound growth rate of 18-20% over the past 3-5 years, and is estimated to grow at 18.6% over the next few years. The products business accounts for over half the market. VLCC said it is category leader in this space.
