BELL: SENSEX ENDS 162 PTS HIGHER
The BSE Sensex advanced 161.74 points, or 0.51 per cent, to 31,892.23 on Friday, whereas NSE Nifty index settled 56.50 points, or 0.57 per cent, up at 9,974.40.

GDP GROWTH SLIPS TO 5.7% IN Q1
June quarter GDP growth print came lower at 5.70 per cent, compared with a 7.90 per cent expansion in the same quarter last year. The number was far lower than a 6.4 per cent estimate of economists in an ETNow poll. This is the lowest GDP growth the country has recorded in last 13 quarters. Subdued growth in manufacturing and industrial production majorly impacted the GDP figures. The market may react negatively to the subdued GDP figures on Friday.
