CLOSING BELL: SENSEX ENDS 162 PTS HIGHER
The BSE Sensex advanced 161.74 points, or 0.51 per cent, to 31,892.23 on Friday, whereas NSE Nifty index settled 56.50 points, or 0.57 per cent, up at 9,974.40.

NIFTY REALTY HITS 52-WEEK HIGH; IB REAL ESTATE ZOOMS OVER 8%
Robust gains in Indiabulls Real Estate (up 8.17 per cent), HDIL (up 4.99 per cent) and DLF (up 4.46 per cent) helped Nifty Realty index hit a fresh 52-week high of 289.15 during Friday's trade. NIFTY IT INDEX IN THE RED; TCS SLIPS OVER 2%
Bucking the positive stance of markets, Nifty IT index erased the gains of the previous session to emerge as the solitary loser on NSE in Friday's trade. Nifty IT index was 58 points, or 0.55 per cent down at 10,500 around 12 pm (IST), with shares of Tata Consultancy Services (down 2.02 per cent), Wipro (down 0.74 per cent), Just Dial (down 0.73 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 0.20 per cent) as the losers in the index.

RUPEE OPENS FLAT AT 63.91 AGAINST US DOLLAR
The rupee on Friday opened 1 paise down at 63.91 against dollar on account of buying of American currency by banks and importers. The local currency on Thursday settled 11 paise up at 63.90 against dollar. It was the best closing for rupee since August 9, when it had closed at 63.84.

GDP GROWTH SLIPS TO 5.7% IN Q1
June quarter GDP growth print came lower at 5.70 per cent, compared with a 7.90 per cent expansion in the same quarter last year. The number was far lower than a 6.4 per cent estimate of economists in an ETNow poll. This is the lowest GDP growth the country has recorded in last 13 quarters. Subdued growth in manufacturing and industrial production majorly impacted the GDP figures. The market may react negatively to the subdued GDP figures on Friday.

RUPEE AT THREE-WEEK HIGH
The rupee on Thursday staged a recovery to end at a fresh three-week high of 63.90 against the US dollar by gaining a good 11 paise on bouts of dollar unwinding by exporters and companies. This was the best closing for the Indian unit since August 9, when it had closed at 63.84.

ADITYA BIRLA CAPITAL TO LIST TODAY
Shares of Aditya Birla Capital, the newly-formed financial services company of the Aditya Birla Group, will be listed on the BSE and the NSE on Friday. The listing would be the culmination of a composite scheme of arrangement under which Aditya Birla Nuvo was merged with Grasim Industries and the financial services business was subsequently demerged into Aditya Birla Capital.

ASIAN MARKETS EDGE HIGHER
Asian equities followed Wall Street’s gains overnight and edged higher on Friday while the dollar’s advance slowed ahead of the US jobs report due later in the session, reports Reuters. The nonfarm payrolls report is the last before the US Federal Reserve’s next policy meeting and may influence the timing of the Fed’s rate hike. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.2 per cent. Australian shares added 0.35 per cent and South Korea's Kospi advanced 0.25 per cent. Japan.
