CLOSING BELL: SENSEX ENDS ABOVE 32,500 FOR
THE 1ST TIME EVER
BSE Sensex opened at 32,412.20 and touched an intraday high and low of 32,546.50 and 32,324 respectively. Shares of SBI (up 4.41 per cent), Power Grid (4.32 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 3.02 per cent) were the top gainers on the index. On the other hand, Sun Pharma (down 3.59 per cent), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (down 3.41 per cent) and Lupin (down 3.08 per cent) capped gains.

THESE STOCKS ZOOMED UP TO 20%
Shares of Kanani Industries (up 19.91 per cent), ICSA (India) (up 19.64 per cent), Venus Remedies (up 17.13 per cent) and Nakoda (up 16.67 per cent) zoomed up to 20 per cent on NSE in Monday's trade. Other stocks such as Sujana Metal (up 13.51 per cent), ADF Foods (up 13.44 per cent), Celestial Biolabs (up 11.74 per cent), Nicco Corporation (up 10 per cent) and MVL (up 10 per cent) surged more than 10 per cent.

BANK STOCKS SURGE POST SBI RATE CUT
Backed by solid performance by stocks such as Bank of Baroda (up 3.44 per cent), State Bank of India (up 3.44 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.76 per cent), Bank of India (up 1.20 per cent) and Union Bank of India (up 0.96 per cent), the Nifty PSU Bank index rose nearly 3 per cent in Monday's trade.
The initial public offering (IPO) of Security and Intelligence Services (SIS), received bids for 14 per cent of the total issue size on Day 1 of bidding process. By 1 pm, the issue had received bids for 7,41,474 shares compared with the total issue size of 53,16,187 shares.

HSIL GAINS ON EXPANSION PLANS
Shares of sanitaryware manufacturer HSIL advanced in Monday's trade on reports that the company is eyeing over two-fold growth to be Rs 6,000 crore company in the next five years. Following the development, the stock gained 1.12 per cent to Rs 379.50 on BSE.

IL&FS SURGES 5% ON WINNING ZOJILA TUNNEL PROJECT BID
Shares of IL&FS Transportation Networks surged over 5 per cent in Monday's trade after reports that the company emerged as the lowest bidder for the project to build the Zojila tunnel that will provide all-year connectivity between Srinagar and Leh. Following the development, the stock gained 5.59 per cent to Rs 94.50 on BSE. It opened at Rs 93.75 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 97.30 and Rs 93.75 respectively, in the first hour of trade.

GOLD AT 7-WEEK HIGH ON N KOREA NUKE THREAT

US STOCKS AT RECORD HIGH
On Wall Street, the Dow industrials set a record closing high on Friday, helped by a 7.7 per cent jump in Verizon, following the top US wireless carrier's quarterly earnings. The Dow rose 33.76 points, or 0.15 per cent, to close at 21,830, but the S&P500 lost 3.32 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 2,472. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 7.51 points, or 0.12 percent, to 6,374.

SENSEX ON FRIDAY
The S&P BSE Sensex snapped its five-day winning streak to close 73 points lower at 32,310 with HDFC (up 3 per cent) being the top gainer and Dr Reddy's (down 6 per cent) the worst laggard. The broader Nifty50 ended in the red, but closed above the crucial 10,000 level. The index ended at 10,014 with 22 components in the green and 29 in the red.
