AARTI INDUSTRIES SPURTS 17% ON SIGNING MULTI-YEAR DEAL
Shares of Aarti Industries advanced nearly 17 per cent in Thursday's trade after the company informed the bourses that it has signed a multi-year deal with a global agricultural company worth Rs 4,000 crore to supply agrochemical intermediary.

AVIATION STOCKS GAIN ON COOLING CRUDE PRICES
Aviation stocks were trading higher in trade on Thursday after crude oil prices slumped to their lowest close in seven months. Reacting on the development, InterGlobe Aviation hit fresh 52-week high of Rs 1206. The scrip was trading 3.13 per cent up at Rs 1,191 around 11.30 am (IST). Jet Airways was trading 1.61 per cent up at Rs 541.50, while SpiceJet was up 1.85 per cent up at Rs 123.80.

TEJAS NETWORKS IPO SUBSCRIBED 14% ON DAY 2
The initial public offering (IPO) of Bengaluru-based Tejas Networks got subscribed 14 per cent on the second day of offer till 11 am (IST). Data from stock exchanges showed that the IPO received bids for 24,50,965 shares against the total issue size of 1,71,12,005 shares.

CRUDE OIL SLIPS
Crude oil traded near their lowest levels in seven months early on Thursday, hurt by high global inventories and doubts over Opec’s ability to implement production cuts. Brent crude futures were down 7 cents or 0.2 per cent at $46.93 per barrel, after slumping nearly 4 per cent in Wednesday’s session. WTI crude futures were down 12 cents or 0.3 per cent at $44.61 a barrel.

US MARKETS IN THE RED
US stocks edged lower on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the second time in three months and weaker oil prices weighed on the energy sector. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 9.45 points, or 0.04 per cent, to 21,319, the S&P500 lost 9.19 points, or 0.38 per cent, to 2,431 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 55.77 points, or 0.9 per cent, to 6,164.

ASIAN MARKETS WEAK
Asian equities turned cautious on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the second time this year, as was widely expected by markets. At 7 am Indian time, Nikkei was down 116 points, Hang Seng 249 points, Kospi gave up earlier gains to decline 0.75 per cent, but Chinese markets were trading mixed.

SENSEX ON WEDNESDAY
The domestic equity market ended on a positive note on Wednesday ahead of the outcome of US Fed’s rate-setting meeting later in the day. The S&P BSE Sensex gained 52 points to end the session at 31,155, with Reliance Industries (up 3.23 per cent), Dr Reddy’s Labs (up 1.40 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.33 per cent) and HUL (up 1.22 per cent) being the top gainers. The Nifty50 closed the session 11 points higher at 9,618 with Reliance Industries, Bank of Baroda and Dr Reddy’s Labs being the top gainers.
