Reliance Jio to provide basic JioFiber service sans service charges; offers collaboration service via Microsoft

Jio will provide double-data across its 4G data add-on vouchers. It will also bundle non-Jio voice calling minutes in these vouchers at no additional cost, to meet the increased need of these services.

Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio unveiled its Fiber to the home (FTTH) internet offering JioFiber on September 5 entering the wired telecom segment for the first time after it disrupted the wireless market with Jio almost four years ago.

Reliance Jio said that it will provide Basic JioFiber broadband connectivity (10 Mbps), wherever it is geographically feasible, without any service charges, for this period.

The Mukesh Ambani-led telco will also provide home gateway routers with a minimum refundable deposit, it said in a statement.

Jio will provide double-data across its 4G data add-on vouchers. It will also bundle non-Jio voice calling minutes in these vouchers at no additional cost, to meet the increased need of these services.


"As its ongoing commitment, Jio is ensuring that its mobility services are up and running at all times with the deployment of essential teams on rotation round the clock across the country," it said.


Jio said that it is combining its digital capabilities with Microsoft Teams, the unified communication and collaboration hub for teamwork in Office 365, to enable individuals, students, educational and healthcare institutions to continue their professional lives while still practicing social distancing.
