Rajendra Agarwal along with his brothers started his own venture -- Macleods Pharmaceuticals -- in 1986. The company was formed with an aim to produce anti-tuberculosis and anti-infective drugs
The company was officially incorporated as Macleods Pharmaceuticals Ltd. on June 05, 1989, and is headquartered in Mumbai
As the Indian pharmaceuticals export business grew, the company became a global supplier of first-line and second-line Anti-TB drugs
In 2000, Macleods opened an R&D centre in Mumbai to facilitate chemical research, formulation development, analytical research and bioequivalence study
