Understand Bhukti

Obtaining clarity on rightful enjoyment (bhukti), which is a means to freedom ( mukti), would enable the intelligent seeker to first comprehend that there is nothing as ‘right’ bhukti or ‘wrong’ bhukti.

Categorising bhukti as right or wrong is comparable to misnomers such as ‘right’ kindness or ‘wrong kindness’. Bhukti, in its proper sense, can only be right.

Based as this bhukti would be on ‘truths’ divined — ‘truths’, which the Bible notes, would “set you free”, which, verily, is mukti— such bhukti is bound to be only good, helpful and evolutionary.

The question of exceeding the limits also does not arise in this state of wisdom. This is akin to awareness-laden right eating, where one would naturally know when his taste buds and hunger are satisfied, as contrasted to a glutton’s devouring food, his passions never ceasing to haunt him.

When to ‘remove oneself from bhukti’ is also not an issue, because the more of this rightful bhukti could prove to be the merrier and better in particular cases, for contributing to one’s final spiritual objective. As one nears this ‘mystical’ ‘mukti’, he would begin to transcend his very need for bhukti, which until then was for him a stepping stone. This is the power to detach oneself from anything, whenever he wants.

This, thus, also is not a state of getting bhukti ‘fulfilled’, but one of ‘transcending’ even bhukti —being the better and wiser for all that has been. Understand bhukti properly and you are on the threshold of that ‘heaven of freedom’, the ‘only true law’, which in Indian parlance is called mukti! kvyoga@gmail.com
