State of not ever knowing defeat
Progressing to obtain harmony, inner control, fulfilment and focus, the true seeker would learn gradually to be freed of his compulsive tendencies to look to support, appreciation or approval from imperfect mortal beings. Bhagavad Gita (6, 7) call...

Engrossed always with the pursuit of his truest interests and also inspired by his own courage of conviction and self-respect, this evolved person would thus not even have any time or inclination for fault-finding, regrets, grudges or resentments. This is the art of not even taking note of various inevitable hazards of daily living, let alone being damaged by these. Indeed, this is the process of being proactive, in contrast to being reactive!
This also is a state involving not merely a steady mind, but one, where the aspirant is blessed with altered reactions with regard to physical needs, too, such as food and sleep. Fed often by the food for his intellect and inspired by his drive towards excellence and also soothed continually by the peace of the fulfilled spirit within, this lucky, well-adjusted mortal can go on for hours without food for the body and would also hardly ever need to sleep, in the manner noted by Norman Lewis.
One who triumphs, in this manner, over instinctive reactions of his senses (vijitendriyah, indrajitah) is thus not damaged either by mental distractions or disillusionments with the world or by any impulsive habits, passions, urges, cravings or instincts to escapism.
Time and energy thus far spent on dealing with and fighting these inner conflicting and retarding forces, would now be available for single minded pursuit of one's truest interests and other creative involvements.
Established in this evolved state (yogastaha) and guided by his own divine self (paramatma), this seeking mortal (jeevatma) obtains all that he needs from the infinite reservoir of joy, peace and light within (antarsukaha, antararamaha, antarjyoti).
This triumph of the sublime forces over the base ones is that evictory over oneselff, whereby one becomes an ally in his own progress, obtaining naturally, with this, also support of forces all over in his progress to true success. He would, thus march on, not ever knowing defeat!
