Forever Krishna

The antics of the lovable Child God Krishna have been wowing devotees in the virtual world for quite some time. Now, the digital avatar of the World Saviour inside a virtual 3-D Krishna temple has become available to them on the iPhone or an iPad! Meanwhile, in the real world too, artists, poets, philosophers, seekers and students are all ardently calling Krishna. This was evidenced at the recent conference on Sri Krishna in regional literature jointly organised by the Sri Vishnu Mohan Foundation and SIES College in Mumbai.

"Sri Krishna is an omnipresence," said the keynote speaker, Shyam Manohar Goswami ji. "Krishna pervades every aspect of reality. You can call it virtual, digital, surrealist or hyper-realistic or by any other conceivable epithet such as regional/national, or even musical/metaphorical, poetic/artistic, dramatic/allegorical."

There's a verse in the Srimad Bhagvatam that says the Lord appears to the seeker in the very form that he seeks, "To the evil emperor Kamsa, therefore, the Lord appeared as Death; to the wrestlers spoiling for a fight, he came as a bolt of lightening, and to the women besotted, he looked like the very God of Love, and to the sages and rishis, he was the Teacher Supreme, while to the cowherds, he appeared as one of their own."

The moral of the verse is that the aspirants should, by all methods whether positive or negative ( anvaya-vyatirkta), strive to know That which exists always and everywhere and experience that Truth with serene concentration so as not to be disturbed even by illusory objects.
