'Evaluate' rightly
While some have the uncanny ability to ‘evaluate’ persons rightly and, thus, deal with them appropriately, most are often led up the garden path, falling prey to glib talk, pretensions and finally ingratitude. Is there a way by which one can judge people well and, thus, pre-empt damage to himself? Certain broad hints could serve to guide.

Open-mindedness, that includes also self-honesty and willingness to change one’s perceptions, is an important pre-requisite. It would be necessary not merely to guard against judging the other person as an undesirable one merely on surmise, but also against attributing particular virtues, where they may not exist. Indeed, being infatuated by sheer glitter would also be highly damaging.

Considering all related issues wisely, allowing time to pass, letting things ‘hasten slowly’ and, thus, allowing your subconscious to obtain its own solutions, discussing with well-meaning persons, brainstorming — these are also time-tested techniques, through which light could emerge, even in seemingly hopeless situations.

This also is the rightful approach, rooted in serenity, clarity and an abiding capacity to be truly analytical.

The key is, thus, dwelling in physical, mental and spiritual relaxation — relaxation that confers an “altered perception”, which Swamy Satyananda Saraswati points out, enables you to know, ‘truth’ of matters. This truth, as The Bible notes, would indeed, “set you free”. Set free thus of imperfections, all your judgment and evaluation would be right, fair and beneficial!
