Freedom is humanity's noblest aspiration. It restores dignity, unleashes creativity, and enables individuals, societies and nations to shape their own destinies. However, this significant occasion also raises a deeper question: is political freedom the culmination of liberty, or merely a beginning?

The sages of India discovered and taught that the limitation that makes us feel small and insignificant belongs to the body, mind and senses. Beneath these limited instruments shines our essential nature; the Atman, Self, pure Consciousness.

However enormous in form, everything in the world carries threefold limitations: desh-kaal-vastu-parichhed, place-wise, time- wise, and object-wise. The ever- free Self is not limited by time, place or object. It is the silent presence because of which every thought is known and every experience illumined. It is the very substratum of all things and beings; all names and forms derive their being from this non-dual Consciousness.

In this vision, the Self alone is the real sovereign, and the sovereignty of the Self alone is limitless, complete and ever free. The one who discovers this truth is a free person. This realisation does not make us withdraw from the world; rather, it enables us to engage with it and contribute through wisdom, creativity, compassion and fearlessness..
