Isaac Asimov's The Last Question is a rare story where the intellect of science gently opens into the wonder of the spirit. It begins with humanity's triumph - a supercomputer that runs the world, drawing limitless energy from the sun. Yet, amid this abundance lingers an ancient anxiety: what happens when the sun dies? Can the process of decay, of entropy, ever be reversed? The great machine answers simply - 'Insufficient data for meaningful answer'.

Aeons pass. Humanity spreads across galaxies, transcends physical being, and fuses with its own creation. Still, the same question persists - can the increasing chaos of the universe be undone? And through each age, the answer remains the same. Finally, as the stars fade and darkness claims all, only the consciousness of that machine - now merged with the mind of man - endures. And, in that stillness beyond time, it discovers the answer. 'Let there be light,' it says. And there is light. The story ends where creation begins.

When we ask, as humanity does through eternity, whether light can return after darkness, perhaps the answer is already within us. For the Divine, too, whispers across ages: let there be light. This is the melding of science into a sublime, endless cycle of spiritual creation. In Asimov's universe, science doesn't oppose spirituality. It becomes its vessel.
