The Courier Of Light

The whole world is, and has been for some time, in a state of war between the forces of light and darkness. The war is not between one religion and another, or between one political system and another, but between that aspect of human consciousness that tends upward, towards God, and that other, which tends downward, away from Him and toward material fulfilment and all that is born of matter-consciousness: hatred, greed, intolerance and the desire to destroy, as opposed to the life-giving desire to serve, build and create.

Let us pray that we ourselves be given the grace to be instruments for the divine light, that it may flood ever more strongly and clearly into the world. Widespread negative conditions may tempt us to despair. It is a time for placing human problems more determinedly than ever in God’s hands.

One raindrop adds but a little moisture to the earth. Once, however, it unites with enough other drops, they become a torrent of water flowing to the sea. So, also, by uniting our energy and directing it toward the ocean of divine consciousness, we can participate in the power of divine light that is combating darkness. What should we pray for? We should pray that God use us not as we may will but in ever-greater attunement to His will.
