Earth Day 2026 theme is 'Our Power, Our Planet'. We must focus on empowering individuals and communities to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and demand environmental action. The world is sorely lagging behind the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Baha'u'llah, founder of the Baha'i Faith, said, '...ye walk on My earth complacent and self-satisfied, heedless that My earth is weary of you and everything within it shunneth you....'

Earth Day falls during the Festival of Ridvan, paradise, which spans 12 days, from April 21 to May 2. In India, one of the only two living civilisations, a reservoir of ancient knowledge systems and a large young population from diverse backgrounds, brimming with creativity and talent, should set the example for living in harmony with nature.

'My object,' Baha'u'llah proclaimed to the multitudes who recognised him, 'is none other than the betterment of the world and tranquillity of its peoples....' The appearance of every divine educator, as recorded in sacred texts of world's great faiths, is a pivotal event that propels advancement of civilisation. All nations will become one, all religions will be unified. Present-day polarisation caused by artificial barriers of races, castes, countries, divisive politics, languages and what-have-you, must disappear, and all humankind would attain prosperity, peace and tranquillity.
