Expressed universe

What we belittle as matter is nothing but a varying form of energy. To maintain inertness of matter, the existence of energy as well as its application are undeniable. And this concentration of energy, being crude, expresses crude waves that are black. So, the energy that causes inertness in objects is an expression of Prakriti and Purush's static force.

The influence of the sentient principle is the exact opposite, for it is effulgent and expressive. It is characterised by its excellence of expansion and subtlety. Characteristic of the static principle is to bind whatever is subtle within limitations of forms and lines, bringing it within periphery of sense perception, and within the scope of human conception. Thus, due to the static influence of Prakriti, the abstract is brought into the initial stage of matter, ether.

When there is unfoldment of mutative and sentient principles, they cannot give any expression to their limited ideas in the absence of a proper object.


Characteristic of the static principle to bring the subtle within the periphery of finitude is actual cause behind manifestations of both actions and objects. These finite expressions of the practical world are limiting actional expression of the static principle. Names, forms and other symbolisations have been ascribed to them by the doer 'I'.

Difference between objects is caused by varying degrees of bondage of static principle. The indriyas, human sense organs, and their controller, mind, accept collectivity of these objects, bound by limitations of forms, as the expressed universe.
