Something is in the air. After the episodes of committing nuisance in Air India flights, we have turbulence in general in the airline industry. Or so it seems if one checks the air traffic control manned by the media. On Sunday night, two passengers on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Patna were arrested on arrival at the capital of the prohibition state. The airline reiterated that there had been 'no altercation onboard as is being reported by some sections of social media'. The fact that it's perfectly kosher to have a few drinks in Delhi airport - from where the two passengers separately legally procured a few pegs - without any antisocial behaviour to show for it does not mean the passengers were 'inebriated'. The law that makes someone enter Bihar after consuming liquor outside liable for arrest is ridiculous - unless, of course, the drinker was 'driving' the plane. Beware the sudden spurt of anti-alcohol tirade on social media that conflates drunken behaviour with having a drink.

More to the point is the case of 54 Go First passengers in Bengaluru who missed the bus - or, rather, missed the flight to Delhi while they were still on the airline bus. It's rather interesting to note that all cases of misdemeanour, faux crime and faux pas involved flights to or from New Delhi. Now they'll say stop all flights plying the national capital.
