As far as news goes, this is as breaking as it gets. Last week, Robert Vadra said that '{e}veryone is expecting from [him] to choose Moradabad or any other city in Uttar Pradesh for [his] entry to Parliament' in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Two things stand out in this statement made by Indira Gandhi's only grandson-in-law. One, Vadra surprisingly isn't an MP already. Two, he has left it ambiguous about whether 'everyone' is expecting him to go on to win the seat after standing from Moradabad or any other city in UP. The man who has described himself as someone who is 'everyday...in the service of people', 'will see' if he can participate in the next general elections or not.

Vadra's qualifications, to be sure, are immaculate. When his wife 'comes home', the couple, he said, 'talk[s] politics', and 'discuss[es] how to mitigate the sufferings of people in the villages'. Presumably, he will do the same if and when he is elected from Moradabad or any other city in UP that will have enough villages nearby with people with sufferings that need mitigation. Vadra also made the refreshingly progressive statement that 'people want to see [his wife] as CM', adding that it will be her decision whether she wants to be CM or 'will go at the national stage because she is a national leader'. He will, it seems, not interfere with her decision. Wow.
