Politics, talking about it became so boring

Elegance no longer resides in modern politics. Other things do, like 'Whatever it takes', the kind of things that teens once took to be 'adult' qualities, and now adults take to be virtuous: Whatever it takes. Is this a pity? We would think so. But water seeks its own level - until new levels are found. Politics has not stopped becoming interesting. What has become uninteresting is how it is analysed. Venturing forth into some kinds of plausible explanations has become impolite at best, verboten at worst. Politics has become what politicians say it is. Which is like reading food reviews written by chefs. So, yes, predictable.

Issue-based political commentary still exists - but just. What matters is who says or push-pulls things, not the things themselves. Politics was always too important to be left to politicians. We are in an era where that importance is undermined without anyone complaining. All politics is psychological - and if you want to push the numerics, definitely sociological. It remains so today. But its interpretations and analyses - ancillary aspects, to be sure - have shrunk, to the point of boredom. Politics has become the subject of lazy gists, not engaging reviews. Which is good news for all things non-political. But popular interest in entertainment has lost one of its most engaging subjects.
