Not just Turkiye and Azerbaijan, it seems

There are patriots, who are thoughtfully cancelling their vacations to Turkiye and Azerbaijan, because these two countries aired their support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. And then there are real patriots, who refused to ever go to the US - on vacation, to study or to stay - not just because that country has been instrumental in okaying the latest IMF loan to Pakistan, or equalised India and Pakistan even after the Pahalgam terrorist attacks, but because, for decades, America has been rogue-supportive through weaponry and money supplies.

Never mind President Jimmy Carter describing in 1980 President Zia-ul-Haq, responsible for Pakistan taking on a distinct anti-India Islamist turn: 'I found him a competent personality to bear the beacon of light that the free world expects of him to bear.' Never mind that post-9/11, Washington found Islamabad to be a 'partner in terrorist crime-busting'. But, even now, as Pakistan has moved closer to a Chinese orbit, Trumpland shows that it has 'feelings' for Pakistan. 'Maybe we can even get them together a little bit... where they go out and have a nice dinner together,' said the American president last week about the two countries that nearly went to war. So, New York, Grand Canyon, Napa Valley, Niagara Falls... along with Istanbul and Baku, the super patriots will give these places, too, a miss.
