Make Greenlanders rich again

The average Greenlander, like the average Gujarati, is a rational person. So, with Donald Trump Esq making an offer of the US purchasing their country, an autonomous territory of Denmark, they should be taking out their calculators and holding an AGM. As shareholders, they would like to know what the buy would entail for them. For one, a proper valuation should precede any transaction. FT's calculating gents estimate the world's largest island, covering over 2 mn sq km, should be worth $1.1 tn, considering its rich deposits of rare earth elements. But bumping up the price to, say, $5 tn - incorporating future trade potential and price tag attached to silly Westphalian notions like nation-state sovereignty - distributing 'compensation' among Greenland's 50k-odd residents should make each Greenlander $100 mn richer. Fair money, one should say as a third party not having their country up for sale - or the right number of shareholders to make a rational transaction worthwhile.

But would it be worth MAGArika's while - and pocket? Given Greenland's strategic value, RoI will be huge. More importantly, Trump would be remembered Mt Rushmore-style of being the Great American Expansionist in history - and geography - books. Greenlanders should open up their super-yard sale to the highest bidder. Renminbis and roubles should also be acceptable.
