A day before the two estranged Thackeray cousins shared a stage in Worli in years, two other squabbling siblings met - without throwing insults, or guitars, at each other. After 16 years, Oasis played again, with the Brothers Gallagher making the Cardiff crowd weep, cheer, and everything in between 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger'. Tanked up with 'Champagne Supernova' and 'Cigarettes and Alcohol', even Taylor Swift fans were gobsmacked by all the rock'n'roll. Then, the very next day in the country of England next to Wales, Ozzy Osbourne sat on a black throne in Birmingham and declared, 'Let the madness begin!' - which is how all retirement parties should start. Black Sabbath reunited for the first time in two decades, proving that arthritis and heavy metal are not mutually exclusive. Bill Ward's drumming was thunderous, Tony Iommi's riffs still melted faces, and frontman Ozzy, despite Parkinson's and spinal surgery, sang like the Prince of Darkness he's always been.

Together, these two megagigs were a masterclass in how to bow in and out with style. Reunions and farewells are two sides of the same vinyl: one scratches nostalgia, the other spins legacy. Done wrong, they seem like politicians announcing their retirement only to come back in another party. Done right, it's Liam and Noel, and Ozzy going back to the beginning.
