How to get the job of getting a job done

Chutzpah, thy name is Haider Malik. While most blame government or Jawaharlal Nehru for lack of opportunities or workplaces taking employees for granted and not granting future employees entry, this 24-year-old Londoner decided he had enough of Zoom job interviews where pitching himself was tougher than buffering on data under a bridge, and went commando. What this graduate from Middlesex University did was busk with a vengeance on November 2 at a spot at London's busy business district. Instead of playing music for a few coppers, Malik improvised - innovation at its most radical form - and set up a whiteboard that stated, 'BSc Banking & Finance 1st Class Grad looking for entry-level role, graduate scheme. Approach for my CV, any advice, just to chat.' Alongside were QR codes where interested parties could check his CV and LinkedIn profile.

Malik's phone got busy and on November 5, after two interviews with the company, was offered a job with the Canary Wharf Group where he is now a new, happy employee. This goes to show what you can do that business schools don't teach you. Also, Malik's audacity shows that social media can always use a more in-your-face human touch (read: push) to get qualitatively amplified and make its user stand out from the rest of the new-age herd.
