How to Channel Your Anti-Pakistaniness

There are enough patriots among us to drop whatever they are doing and 'take out' Pakistan. But before venturing on such an expedition, a new reason - if there was ever a need for one - has landed by which true-blue Indians can showcase their antipathy towards all things Pakistani. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has 'asked' local TV channels to censor 'objectionable content'. This list includes 'indecent dressing, caressing, bed scenes and gestures, sensitive and controversial plots and unnecessary detailing of events which are highly disturbing, distressing for the viewers and against the commonly accepted standards of decency'. There goes any plan of an Imran Khan biopic, 'Big Boys Play At Night', being aired in the PM's country.

So where does the Indian patriot come in? For starters, he or she can start laughing wildly at the latest diktat that now treats all Pakistanis as hormones-heaving teens to be kept safe from the terrors of PDA. But Indians can truly succeed in shame-shaming Pakistan by behaving in exactly the opposite way of our hidebound neighbours - by celebrating a permissive culture. By allowing everything on our screens, Indian patriots will give such a rip-roaring riposte to those narrow-minded lot that they'd wish the subcontinent was never partitioned - by a TV child lock.
