The Moroccan sons' pride in their mothers has been a lovely surprise for all of us, since we don't get to see much public displays of filial affection, that too among sportfolks. We have loads of WAGs - wives and girlfriends - of sportsmen in the public domain, but very few trophy fathers or mothers. The gush that is usually trotted out is in Bollywood, where it frankly doesn't count, since nepotism deserves parental bowing before fans anyway. But making parents come out of the woodwork at the workplace - in the case of Hakimi and Boufal, at the global world place of the World Cup - should be a trend. Even fathers will approve.
