Do not dismiss the existence of ghosts

Do ghosts exist? It is strange that outside the realm of films and fiction - which kind of gives the game away where the verdict among filmmakers and fiction writers lies - and small budget documentaries, no serious thought has been invested in this matter. At a time when opinions among people are open like never before, it is an opportune moment for academic symposia, conferences, studies and research should be conducted in this field. For far too long, an empirical lobby has bullied its way through the academe - and subsequently the serious arena of public opinion - to dismiss ghosts as a concoction of some ideological mooring that refuses to even investigate the matter. There should be nothing in the book that should stop curious minds with a scientific bent of mind from, for starters, testing a question that everyone refuses to engage in, let alone embark to find an answer to: do ghosts exist?

We propose that an institute of high standing is composed for the purpose. The body should comprise both persons of science as well as the scholars of the spiritual arena. If a spectre could be once thought to haunt Europe, there is no reason why spectres could not be existing in this sublunary world. Hi-tech devices like spectrometers could be manufactured for this purpose - which, incidentally, would provide a great boost for employment.
