'Bingbore', the new exciting trendy look

#Beingbored is trending. Maybe not yet in your neck of the woods, but certainly among the coolest folks at the tip of the trendy curve. But what is it? A variation of Salman Khan's charity foundation Being Human? No, being bored - or 'bingbore', as it is more familiarly known as among Generation Hex-ers - is the look one exudes to show that one is bored. The point is to underline the fact that one is so familiar otherwise with an engaging, exciting life that any other moments - especially in the company of aam janta - is b-o-r-i-n-g. Think petulant teenagers at a family gathering and apply the 'look' to adults in various circumstances. So, not only do we have celebs and influencers 'bingbored' but also entrepreneurs and professionals, with even politicians and bureaucrats picking up and running with the new trend.

Showing that one is bored usually comprises having a 'look' for public consumption that is a half-stare into the distance/table and half-slight twirl of the lower lip to suggest being low-level upset. But will bingbore really take off here in a culture where even if one is, indeed, bored, it is taboo to show it? Or among those whose job it is to show that one is constantly under a permanent fog of excitement and engagement, like politicians and actors? It could take off in pockets and in niche circles. After all, being bored is a luxury.
