'Do not ask what your country will pay you. Ask what you will pay your country,' is the general appeal. Forget that Apple has spent decades perfecting the fine art of making expensive products even more expensive. Now that the iPhone may possibly be 'Made in America', the truly American consumer should be thrilled at the prospect of paying even more for the exact same devices. iPhones are expensive, but not luxury items. So, stamping a 'Designed in Tampa' logo may not do the D&G/Prada trick. Mind you, the psychology is flawless. Americans love their iPhones. Americans love America. Mix the two and you get an irresistible cocktail of national pride and financial recklessness. Wallets across the country will, begrudgingly, accept this. Because nothing says economic optimism like overpaying for the same product - just with the right flag (of patriotism) attached.
