And here's another (sore) challenger

And there we have it. Exactly 22 days after results declared Lula da Silva the winner in Brazil's presidential election, the incumbent loser Jair Bolsonaro filed a petition with the election authorities to formally challenge the results. Ever since that other chap in that country much north of Brazil refused to accept defeat in their presidential polls, it's become acceptable to cry foul play and not recognise defeat. In some growing circles, challenging a result - obviously if one doesn't win - is becoming a trend, without which you may be liable of being considered a 'double loser'. To be (slightly) fair to him, Bolsonaro was bolstered to challenge the verdict because Lula's win was slender - him winning 50.8% of the votes while the outgoing president winning 49.2%. And a slim victory/loss allows magical doubt to creep in.

It's doubtful that Bolsonaro's challenge will go anywhere. Unlike Don the Trump, he may have left it too late to pick holes in the counting, considering the time limit to present a full audit for the October votes of 24 hours of the final verdict has long passed. Also, 'signs of irreparable... malfunction in some electronic voting machines' is so jaded in the list of excuses that one feels almost bound to hand the retired general some other straws he can clutch on. Be that as it may, he's made sore losing mainstream.
