A Sad Story of Party People Partying
Partying - whether hard or soft - apparently doesn't go well with public service. Or, more to the point, being seen partying.
Partying - whether hard or soft - apparently doesn't go well with public service. Or, more to the point, being seen partying. But like the student who plays hard but still ends up getting good marks, there is not much opprobrium if a politician parties and rakes in a good show in terms of electoral results. All that may go his or her way is some tut-tuts. Things go all judgemental and chhi-chhi when there is consistent failure on the electoral front. The style of politics suddenly is not so much the problem, the lack of electoral acumen is not that much of an impediment - as the proclivity to have a good time is. Which is when come the stentorian tut-tuts. Which is also quite a pity. Since partying and political parties are mutually exclusive entities.
