Vishal Sikka needs to set the conditions right for various VPs and unit heads: Ankit Pandey, Quant Broking

In a chat with ET Now, Ankit Pandey of Quant Broking talks about the management changes at Infosys. Excerpts:

ET Now: Vishal Sikka is now heading Infosys. How have you received the news?

Ankit Pandey: We have received it positively. The main question is that there is still some uncertainty over the next three to four months. More people may decide to leave. But there needs to be more hiring as well, especially because they have lost so many people at the top. They need to promote a lot of people also. The other question is to meet a lot of customers face to face. So over the next six to nine months, there will be a lot of travelling, a lot of meeting with the clients and getting to know the company as a whole. What Mr. Sikka needs to do is to set the conditions right for the various VPs and the heads of the units to work. The industry is growing at a 15 per cent rate and there is no reason why Infosys should not do as well as the average company in the industry. So we have received the news positively. There will be some short-term challenges over the next six to nine months, but we can see valuations heading back to normal levels also. Last year, we have rerated from 15 to 16 times and we have maintained that in this period of turmoil as well. We will begin to see the results only next year.
