ET Now: Do you think that expectations were riding high regarding the Railway Budget and this time around, they were not really delivered?

LV Raju: Yes, that is true. We were talking about the railway safety. The Railway Minister did not talk about the railway safety. About 300 to 400 accidents happen every year and what the government is going to do about this has not been spelled out.

The other point is the provision of security in each railway station. That is very, very important and that means a lot of electronic gadgets, a lot of networks and a lot of things that may be required. He has not talked about security in each railway station.

As a developing country, we cannot afford to have accidents and at Kernex Microsystems we have got train collision avoidance systems and it should be ready in about a few months’ time.

We expected that there will be announcements on the TCAS System and it will be taken up for execution shortly. Probably the minister is not giving clarity, but he must be setting aside some funds for the Indian Railways’ safety and as a part of that, the TCAS System which is our flagship product is likely to come up in the near futur
