Retail has done well; expect some softness in Q3: UB Pravin Rao, Infosys
In a chat with ET Now, UB Pravin Rao, COO of Infosys, shares his views on Infosys' Q2 results. Excerpts:

ET Now: Do you see a little colour on the headwinds in the second half?

UB Pravin Rao: First is the traditional thing of lower working days, furloughs, etc. Second is when you look at some of the verticals which were very strong in the first half - particularly in quarter two like financial services - we are seeing some weakness here, for instance, in insurance. Moreover, given the tremendous pressure, banks are in for cost cutting.

We expect some amount of furlough in financial services, which has never happened in the past. Retail too has done well in quarter two. But we expect some amount of softness this quarter given that it is a holiday season and we can expect some volatility.

We are also seeing a new round of cost cutting. So, quarter three could definitely be challenging. We are hopeful that quarter four will be better than what it was.
