Railway Budget 2016: Barcode ticketing a sign of hope for us, says Pundarika Bibireddy of Bartronics
Bartronics is expecting a better share of business by partnering with the railways, says Pundarika Bibireddy, CEO - Global Operations, Bartronics. In an interview with ET Now, the CEO said bar code ticketing is a very bright signal for the company. Edited excerpts:

ET Now: You have been a consistent supplier to railways. Is there anything that you think would actually lead to an increase in order inflow for you as a company because of this budget?
Pundarika Bibireddy: The brighter signal for the company has been when the minister talked about bar code ticketing... The brighter side from the company’s prespective has been on the vision what he has talked about bar code ticketing and hand held ticketing systems, which is a sign of hope for us, because we are in that market, and we are very strong in those areas.

That gives me a hope for our business growth while partnering with railways' needs. Overall, I felt that the strategy and the vision has been set by the minister and he has been focussing, if you see the last year’s budget, the railways has been going through a vicious cycle of under investment, congestion and over utilisation and he has made steps in this budget to take care of all this.

I can see a strong role in terms of expanding investment and we are very proud that at Bartronics, we will have a better share of business by partnering with railways because of his vision to bring ticketing through handhelds and as well as the bar code system.
