KV Kamath is a man of potential: Narayana Murthy

In a chat with ET Now, Narayana Murthy, Non-Executive Chairman, Infosys, talks about the future chairman of Infosys.

One of the names that has been doing the rounds and I would like to hear from you what are your thoughts about this gentleman is Mr. KV Kamath, a good friend of yours. He has been in the Board of Infosys, I know its early days but do you see him as someone who could eventually become the Chairman of Infosys, would you like him?

No, he is an extraordinary person. I have observed him transform ICICI from a development financing institution to a universal bank. He is clearly one of the most dynamic business leaders of the country but then, it is for the Nominations Committee to decide on who the next Chairman should be. I should not be pre-empting their choice. Therefore while I have unqualified admiration and respect for KV as I call him, the decision on who the next Chairman should be left to the Nominations Committee.

But you do feel he has the pedigree for the job?

There is absolutely, no doubt about it.
